Lane restrictions on Allen Road for bridge construction work

May 8, 2017

Allen Road in Toronto will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Lawrence Avenue West and Ranee Avenue overnight (10 p.m. to 5 a.m.) from May to July to accommodate bridge rehabilitation work at the Flemington Road underpass.

The work, which is getting underway this week, is being done to improve the quality of the bridge structure and make it safer for vehicles and pedestrians.

Work on the project will take place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday to Friday with occasional work taking place during daytime hours and on weekends if required.

Enhanced signage will be used to inform drivers of the road closure and help manage traffic in the area.

The City has a web-based map to help residents and visitors make their travel plans, available at http://www.toronto.ca/roadrestrictions. Information about the City's planned capital construction work is available at http://www.toronto.ca/inview.

This work is part of the City's comprehensive, co-ordinated strategy to rehabilitate and upgrade Toronto's roads, transit and underground infrastructure for current and future needs.
