The City of Toronto is taking steps toward investing in the power of data to help understand how, where and when people travel and how the City can use this information to better assist the public in moving around Toronto.

Toronto Paramedic Services earns re-accreditation as an Emergency Medical Dispatch Centre of Excellence

Toronto Paramedic Services Chief Paul Raftis today accepted a recognition plaque from Jerry Overton, Chair of the Board of Accreditation of the Academies of Emergency Dispatch.

Toronto Paramedic Services recognizes residents and others for helping save lives

Today at the City of Toronto's Paramedic Services headquarters, Chief Paul Raftis hosted the division's annual awards ceremony. Among the more than 50 people recognized for their roles in helping paramedics save lives in Toronto over the past year were 32 residents and several employees of the Toronto Police Service, the City's Corporate Security and the Toronto Transit Commission.

Prescribed burns planned in Toronto's High Park and South Humber Park this spring to sustain rare forest

The City of Toronto's Parks, Forestry and Recreation division has contracted a professional Fire Boss to perform prescribed (controlled) burns in High Park and South Humber Park in mid to late April as part of a long-term management plan to protect and sustain Toronto’s rare black oak woodlands and savannahs. The date for the burns will be planned to coincide with ideal weather conditions and will be announced 24 to 48 hours prior to the burns.
