Dr. David McKeown, Toronto's Medical Officer of Health, has issued an Extreme Cold Weather Alert today for Toronto that will be in effect until further notice.

Continued availability of additional services for homeless people

Until further notice, additional services will continue to be available following the termination of the Extreme Cold Weather Alert at noon today. These services will continue to ensure Toronto's vulnerable persons have a safe and warm place to stay.

City of Toronto joins partners to celebrate opening of Regent Park Athletic Grounds ice rink

City Councillor Pam McConnell (Ward 28 Toronto Centre-Rosedale) joined project partners and community members today to officially open the revitalized Regent Park ice rink. Partners in attendance included Michael Bartlett, Executive Director, MLSE Foundation; Chris Bright, Executive Director, Hockey Canada Foundation; Remo Agostino, Vice President, Development, The Daniels Corporation; and Toronto Community Housing representatives. A Regent Park youth representative and other community members also participated.

City of Toronto's Earl Bales ski and snowboard centre open for the season starting Thursday

Every year, the City of Toronto's two ski and snowboard centres attract thousands of people who want to improve their skills on the hills. Centennial Park and Earl Bales ski and snowboard centres are located near public transit and have competitive lift, equipment and instruction rates, and great hours. Season's passes are available for both locations.
