311 Toronto celebrates five years of customer service

311 Toronto, the City of Toronto's contact centre for non-emergency service requests and information, is celebrating its fifth anniversary. Since 2009, 311 Toronto customer service representatives have responded to over five million calls, 375,000 emails and 15,000 tweets.

UN World Habitat Day marked in Toronto

The City of Toronto, Options for Homes and Home Ownership Alternatives joined together today to celebrate World Habitat Day, which the United Nations marks on the first Monday of October each year. Toronto issued a proclamation and joined Options for Homes and Home Ownership Alternatives for a flag-raising ceremony on Toronto City Hall's podium roof.

City of Toronto completes maintenance work to prepare Gardiner Expressway for winter

The full closure of the Gardiner Expressway this past weekend resulted in a significant amount of work being completed prior to the approaching winter season.

June Callwood Park opens in Toronto's Fort York neighbourhood

City of Toronto representatives in partnership with the Garden Club of Toronto (GCT) joined June Callwood's family members and the Fort York community today to celebrate the opening of June Callwood Park located at 636 Fleet Street. The celebration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and an interactive tour led by the local art group, Shadowland Theatre.

Toronto City Hall open for business Monday as power restored

City Hall will open Monday morning as usual for normal business operations. City of Toronto and Toronto Hydro crews have successfully restored power to the Toronto City Hall building by means of five emergency generators, after a hydro vault fire resulted in closure of the building on Thursday afternoon.
