Toronto Public Health announces winners of student culinary challenge 2016

Today, Toronto Public Health (TPH) hosted a cooking challenge with students from culinary programs at Humber and Centennial Colleges. The challenge was part of TPH's Savvy Diner initiative aimed at increasing nutrition knowledge among prospective chefs, with the goal that they will incorporate healthy options in their menus. The winners of the culinary challenge are Humber College culinary students Emma Marple and Amber Bell.

City of Toronto honours Métis people at flag raising for Louis Riel Day 2016

The City of Toronto today honoured the contributions of Louis Riel and the Métis people to the development of Canada. At a ceremony that included raising the flag of the Métis Nation of Ontario at Toronto City Hall, Councillor Mike Layton (Ward 19 Trinity-Spadina), co-chair of the Aboriginal Affairs Committee, brought greetings and read the proclamation to mark Louis Riel Day in Toronto.

City of Toronto innovation mission explores Israel's venture capital success

On Tuesday, Mayor John Tory and Toronto’s business and technology delegation visited Tel Aviv to meet with Aleph, one of Israel's leading venture capital firms. The group discussed the potential for Israeli-based startups to expand to Toronto.

Toronto Public Health announces the winners of 2016 condomTO design contest

Toronto Public Health announced the four winners of the 2016 condomTO wrapper designs at an awards ceremony tonight at The Paint Box in downtown Toronto. Hundreds of entries were narrowed down to 10 finalists.
