City of Toronto technology mission to Israel visits innovative incubators

Mayor John Tory and members of the City of Toronto delegation has visited high profile innovation centres and incubators in Tel Aviv. The mission allows Toronto to explore how Israel has fostered international growth for their startups. Similar to Toronto, Israel's capital city has nearly 50 business accelerators and incubators that specialize in areas from fintech to biomedical science. This similarity provides the delegation with a leading example of how Toronto can better finance its own technology and innovation sectors.

City of Toronto launches public consultation on Long-Term Financial Plan

The City of Toronto is launching its public consultation on the development of its Long-Term Financial Plan. Information about the consultation, including background reports and engagement opportunities, a series of online surveys and two rounds of community meetings, is available at http://www.investinginto.ca/. The public is also invited to participate in the conversation on social media, using the hashtag #InvestinginTO.

City of Toronto asking the public to help with project remembering Canadian soldiers of First World War

City of Toronto Museums and Heritage Services and the Archives of Ontario are collecting personal stories about T. Eaton Co. Limited employees who fought in the First World War. Public input is needed to help identify those soldiers and provide some personal history about them for a planned exhibit called Eaton's Goes to War that is to be displayed at the City's Mackenzie House museum next fall.

City of Toronto and Metrolinx partner to beautify transit infrastructure

The City of Toronto's StreetARToronto (StART) program and Metrolinx have partnered to complete a series of street art murals to enhance the public realm in the communities along the 20-kilometre stretch of the Kitchener rail corridor along Dundas Street West.
